Is this a good diet/exercise plan?

I am looking to lose weight. I am a 159 lb female who is 5'3''. Also I am relatively young (19) but have had a relatively seditary lifestyle since I came to college. I also am determined to stop my binging. I am looking to get back into shape this summer. My finals are over next week and I have a doctors appointment this friday so I am going to devote 100% to this.

Breakfast:
1 banana (150 cals)
1 cup cereal (150 cals)
.5 cup skim milk (45 cals)

Snack:
fat free greek yogurt (100cals)

Lunch:
salad with lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, carrots, other leafy greens, etc. (~70cals)
squeez of lemon or lime (5 cals)
2 oz whole grain bread (150 cals)

Snack:
fat free cheese stick (50 cals)

Dinner:
pasta with marinara (220+70) and vegetables (30)

Snack/Desert:
seasonal fruit (~100)

Total calories is around 1140.

And for exercise I will be doing walking and running alternatively for 1 hour. So I will be running as long as I can and then walking until I think I can. I really want to work my way up to running for 1 hour.

Good luck in your quest to lose weight! I can suggest a couple things: you need to consume a little bit more calories, especially if you are going to be active. I'd suggest 1300-1400 minimum for someone your current weight. The minimum for anyone should be about 1200, so as you lose weight you might be okay around there. I'm not sure if you are planning on eating the same thing everyday or if this is just an example of one day, but you definitely don't want to eat the same thing everyday because you wont be able to maintain that for very long and it will lead to binging. Not getting enough calories also leads to binging. Look at it as a lifestyle change rather than a diet, explore many healthy options and different exercises, and listen to your body. Good luck!

I see this post is a bit old. How are you doing with your plan?

Workout routines vary for every person, it's a matter of staying true to the plan and following the orders exactly. If this plan isn't providing any results maybe you should consider customizing your own workout routine at Fit Click. The diet plan looks great but maybe you could change up your exercise a bit.
